About

Introducing me…

My name is Steve Cooke. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Music has always been an important part of my life. I studied music throughout school as well as privately, and have played in bands for decades.

I began with guitar in the mid 1960’s and then piano which I took for a number of years eventually getting my Grade 10 with Western Ontario Conservatory. In high school I played the Euphonium in the senior band and guitar in stage band. After high school I picked up the bass guitar and have been playing bass in bands for decades. Bands I play in or have played in include Toronto Harbour (1977 – 2020), Delayne Drive (circa 2005 – 2020), and Blackboard Blues Band (bass sub for decades and band member 2013-2015). I also play in other ad-hoc bands for various events such as Worship Amplified at Beach United Church in Toronto.

I am using this site to share some of my musical endeavours that I have been creating at home with GarageBand playing various guitars, basses and adding midi sounds with my keyboard. Most of these were done during Covid lockdown. You can hear some of my personal recordings from the Solo Music page. You can also hear some of the band demo recording I played bass on over the years on the Band Music page. In addition I have added a Projects page that includes some recordings done with some of my musical pals for various projects.

That is me in the picture on the left or above if you are on a mobile device.
